We are up and going for a month now and have got a lot of press. The website has evolved and the message become clearer. I have to say, I am delighted with the first months feedback. Our beta users are now coming back and telling us how they could not work without YouBookIn. YouBookIn has decided to release source code under a public license, the YouBookIn Public License (YBL). This is after discussions with over many different software vendors in the US, UK and Ireland. There is a strong requirement for our technology but many companies need to control their own destiny. This is due to the deep fragmentation of the market with each geographic region having groups of very competitive companies. There are some open source solutions, but none seem to be of commercial quality, so most niche specific software vendors develop their own home grown solutions. These solutions do not gain any traction in the wider community. The YBL is more business friendly than an open source license as it does not force the licensee to share their own developments , where they would have to give it back to the community.
YouBookIn recognizes the requirement for on line booking in each of those vertical niches and we would like to partner rather than compete with providers of niche specific solutions. Our goal is to build a consumer facing brand. Our YBL is designed so that the licensee can own their own product and customer base while providing that customer base with a trusted solution.
What are the advantages for you? You get to build your solution on a tested enterprise solution at no cost. We will of course continue to fix bugs and add more features that will also be released as part of this program.
Who should take advantage of this? The obvious are those that develop deeper functional software solutions for each of these service niches such as practice management suppliers, salon management suppliers or integrators. Large franchises may want to integrate the booking system with their own ERP systems.

We got out of the office again and did another show and tell this week, to accountants, VC's and journalists. Again the perception is that this is something people need and want to use. "Wow so easy!" This was the general feedback from all those Irish beauty therapists that took the YouBookIn test in Dublin this weekend. To be able to book an appointment in less than 30 seconds. Why would their clients not use it. Some were passing us by and when asked they claimed that they probably could not afford it. When shown the prices they were blown away. Starting at 35 euros a month and a free trial for 30 days, why would you not try it. We are now confident that they will return over the next month to take YouBookIn for a test drive.
